Setting up the CAD
For server admins. Create your departments, decide who can sign on as each, and choose the CAD's rules.
1. Create your departments
On the dashboard, open Departments and add one for each agency: a police department, a sheriff's office, fire and EMS, DOT, dispatch. Already using department names in the CAD? Import from CAD turns them into real departments.
Each department has a type (police, fire, EMS, DOT or dispatch), a colour, and optionally its own Discord server. The type matters: it decides which in-game team a unit must be on, and which calls the CAD recommends them for.
2. Choose who can sign on
Under Who can sign on, pick the Discord roles for that department's personnel. Only members with one of those roles see the department when they open the CAD. Everyone else sees it greyed out, with the reason. The bot re-checks roles regularly, so removing someone's role signs them out.
3. Set what each department can do
Under CAD permissions, pick a preset (police, fire and EMS, dispatch, DOT) and adjust it. Until you set any, a department has no limits. You can also choose which calls a department sees: every call, calls for its type, or only the call types you pick. A unit always sees the call it is attached to, and anyone with Dispatch sees every call.
4. Choose the CAD rules
Everything else is on the CAD's Settings page, which shows the setup to server admins. Switches save the moment you flip them. Lists (call types, law book, codes, channels) save with their own Save button.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Require Roblox verification | On | Nobody but an admin uses the CAD until they have linked their Roblox account. This is how the CAD knows which player you are. |
| In-game duty rules | On | Units go on duty only while they are in the game on the right team, and their unit number is the callsign they wear in-game. Leaving the team takes them off duty. |
| Self-dispatch | On | Units can attach themselves to calls. Off means dispatch assigns everyone. |
| Send CAD messages in-game | On | Messages, assignments, backup requests, panics and status checks also reach units as ER:LC private messages. |
| Voice radio | On | Push-to-talk channels in the CAD. |
| Automatic dispatch | Off | Send new in-game 911 calls to the nearest free unit by itself. |
| Weekly hours goal | Off | Hours a member should be on duty each week, shown on Activity. |
| Discord alerts | Off | Post new calls, panics, warrant and BOLO sightings and tones in a Discord channel. |
| Civilian characters | Off | Let members make characters, vehicles and firearms, for everyone or for chosen roles. |
| Call priorities | Emergency, Urgent, Routine | Name and colour up to five priorities. The first is the top priority. |
| Close quiet calls after | 1 hour | Calls with no units and no activity close by themselves. |
| Call types, law book, ten codes, signals, radio channels | Standard lists | Edit each list in place. The law book feeds charges on arrest reports and citations. |
