Shifts, staff and leave

Shifts with breaks and shift types, quota periods with hours per role, inactivity notices, shift records managers can fix, ranks, profiles, infractions and leave.

Set it up

  1. Pick your rank roles

/staff ranks or Staff and shifts on the dashboard. The order is your role order in Server Settings, highest first.

  2. Choose who manages staff

Set a staff manager role with /staff settings. That role can promote, demote, infract, approve leave, read profiles and fix shift time without being an admin.

  3. Set the quota period

How long staff have to meet their quota: every week, every other week, every month or every few days, on the day and hour you pick (UTC). /duty settings or the dashboard.

  4. Post the roster

/duty channel posts a live roster, grouped by rank, that updates as staff start and end shifts.

Shifts

/duty manage opens your shift panel: Start shift, Take break and End shift, your time this quota period and your quota bar. The roster's button opens the same panel. /duty on, /duty break and /duty off do the same from the command line. Break time doesn't count.

Link a Roblox account with /duty link and your shift starts and ends by itself as you join and leave the ER:LC server, while /duty auto is on.

While someone is on shift they can get an on-shift role and a nickname prefix such as [On Shift], both taken back at the end. Starts, ends and reports can be posted in a shift log channel.

Shift types

Shift types such as Patrol or Support sort time into groups. Staff pick one when they start a shift. A type can need certain roles and give its own on-shift role. The leaderboard can show one type at a time. Set them up on the dashboard or with /duty types. Shifts without a type count as Default.

Start rules

RuleWhat it does
Must be in-gameStaff need a linked Roblox account and to be in your ER:LC server to start a shift. Admins skip this.
Minimum playersThe server needs this many players before shifts can start. Admins skip this.
Most staff on shiftA cap on how many are on shift at once. Applies to everyone.
No shifts on leaveStaff on an approved leave can't start a shift.

Quota periods

A quota is hours per quota period. Set the default with /duty quota, and give a role its own hours with /duty quota and the role option, or under Quota by role on the dashboard. A member's highest role with its own hours wins; 0 hours means that role is exempt.

Before a quota period ends (a day before by default), staff who are behind get a DM saying how much is left and the quota channel gets the list. After it ends the quota channel gets the result: who met their quota and who did not. Staff on leave are left out of the reminders. A shift running across the reset is split, so each period gets its own part.

/duty report shows who is behind right now and who is inactive. /duty leaderboard ranks this quota period, the last one or all time, and marks who met their quota.

Inactivity

Set a number of days and County Control flags staff with no shift in that long, once per stretch of inactivity, in the inactivity channel (or the quota channel). Staff on leave and roles you exempt, such as leadership, are never flagged.

Shift reports

Add up to five report questions on the dashboard and staff get a Write shift report button when a shift ends. The answers are saved with the shift and posted in the shift log channel. A report can be written for a day after the shift.

Fixing shift time

Every finished shift is kept as a record with an ID. /duty history lists someone's shifts. Managers can /duty log a shift someone forgot to start, /duty edit its length or type, /duty delete it, and /duty end someone's shift or break. Totals follow every change. The dashboard has the same tools, with start and end times you can edit.

Staff profiles

/staff profile shows one card with someone's rank, whether they are on shift or on leave, their time this quota period, last period and all time, quota progress, their latest infractions and rank changes, and (for managers) the latest note. Staff can always see their own profile; anyone else's needs a manager. /staff history lists everything on file.

Promotions and demotions

/promote with no role moves someone one rank up. Pick a role to jump to a specific rank. With rank roles set, the old rank role comes off as the new one goes on. /staff demote moves someone one rank down, or to the rank you pick. Every change is posted in the promotion channel and sent to the member by DM.

Infractions

/infract logs a warning, strike, suspension, demotion or termination, posts it in the infraction log and DMs the member. A Demotion infraction also moves them one rank down when rank roles are set. /staff void voids an infraction: it stays on file, crossed out, and any role it gave is taken back.

Leave of absence

With a leave requests channel set, /staff loa from a staff member files a request there with Approve and Deny buttons. A manager answers it and the member gets a DM either way. Leave starts when it is approved, and the leave role (if set) is given and taken back when it ends. Without a leave channel, leave starts straight away.
