Take priority requests
Members ask for in-game priority with a short form, your team approves or denies it with a button, and approving starts the priority timer in your ER:LC server.
At the end members can type /priority to ask for in-game priority. The request goes to a review channel, and anyone with your chosen role (or higher) can approve or deny it. Approving runs the priority timer in-game and DMs the member.
Before you start
- Setting this up needs the Administrator permission or server ownership.
- For approvals to start the timer in-game, your ER:LC server must be connected. See Connect ER:LC. Without it, approvals still DM the member but nothing happens in-game.
- Make a review channel, for example
#priority-requests, that your reviewers can see.
Steps
1. Set the review channel
Type /setpriority channel:#priority-requests.
You see: "Priority requests will now be sent to #priority-requests."
2. Set who can approve
Type /setpriorityrole role:@HR Team.
You see: "Priority requests can now be reviewed by @HR Team and above."
This role, and every role above it in Server Settings, can approve and deny. This role is also pinged on each new request. Do not skip this step (see "If something goes wrong").
3. A member asks for priority
The member joins your ER:LC server, then types /priority in Discord. A "Priority Request" form opens with:
- In-game (Roblox) username
- Reason for priority
- What are you planning? (optional)
You see (the member): "Your priority request has been submitted. You'll be DMed once it's reviewed."
The bot checks the username against who is in-game right now. The request card shows "Verified in-game as ..." when it matches.
4. Approve or deny
In the review channel, the request card has Approve and Deny buttons.
- Approve asks for "Priority duration (seconds)". It starts at 600, which is 10 minutes. Press Submit and the bot runs
:prtyin-game for that long. - Deny asks for a reason (optional), which is sent to the member.
You see: the card changes to "Approved ยท 10m" or "Denied" with who decided. The member gets a "Priority Approved" or "Priority Denied" DM.
Change it later
- Move requests to another channel:
/setpriority channel:#new-channel - Change who can approve:
/setpriorityrole role:@New Role - Start a priority timer yourself without a request:
/erlc priority minutes:10
If something goes wrong
- "The priority request channel isn't set up yet. Please tell an admin." Do step 1.
- "There's nobody in-game right now, join the server first, then request priority." The member has to be in your ER:LC server when they ask.
- "... doesn't match anyone currently in-game." The member typed a name that is not in the server. They should type the Roblox username they are playing on.
- "Only HR+ can review priority requests." The person's highest role is below the role from step 2. Give them a higher role, or pick a lower role with
/setpriorityrole. - Requests ping a role that does not exist, or only admins can approve. The approver role was never set. Do step 2.
- "Approved and the requester was notified, but the in-game
:prtymay have failed (server offline?)" The ER:LC server was offline or not connected. Check the connection, then start the timer with/erlc priority.
